Long description

Rush turns the basics behind the 11+, CAT4, Common Entrance, the ISEB Pre-Test and KS2 SATs into short, fast games. Tap the answer and the next question is already there, with no Next button and no waiting. Every game lasts 100 seconds, and a player's best score stays on screen the whole time, so there's always something to beat.

There are three sections in one app. Verbal has seventeen games, from synonyms and spelling to punctuation, word types and hidden words. Maths has eleven, from times tables to algebra, angles, data and chance, money and time. NVR has thirteen non-verbal reasoning games, including shape analogies, hidden shapes, top views, joining shapes, fold and punch and cube nets, with no reading needed. That's 41 games and more than 95,000 questions.

Questions get harder after three right in a row (two when a player has reached that level before) and ease off after two wrong in a row. Streaks multiply the score, the last ten seconds count double, and anything missed waits in Review with the right answer and why until it's put right. Progress shows how each game is going, and every answer from each game's last 20 goes, just as it looked on screen. Today's rush, the one game the whole family plays each day, gives everyone the same questions, one go each, with a leaderboard on the device.

Two games in every section are free to keep; a subscription opens the rest. It's made for iPhone and iPad, in England.
