The 11+ year and exam day: free timeline and checklist (PDF)
The 11+ year from Year 4 to National Offer Day, what to find out for your area, and the last month, the test day and after. For parents of children in Years 4 to 6.
What’s in it
The first page is the 11+ year on one timeline, with the dates above the line and the practice below it, then the steps one by one: finding out which test your area uses, open days, registering, the test, results, applying for a secondary place by 31 October of Year 6, and National Offer Day on 1 March. A checklist lists what to find out for your area and schools.
The second page is the test itself: the last month week by week, the bag to pack the night before, what is often not allowed, the morning, how to fill in a multiple-choice answer sheet, and what happens after. Every date and rule comes from the site’s own exam pages; where areas differ, the sheet says to check your area’s official page.
