Free Year 1 halves and quarters worksheets (PDF)

In Year 1, children learn about halves and quarters of shapes and of groups. The first worksheet asks whether a shape is cut into equal parts, which is the idea everything else depends on. The second has shapes to shade a half or a quarter of, and the third finds half and a quarter of a group, first with pictures and then without.

Two parts are only halves if they’re the same size, so spend time on the first page.
