Free fractions, decimals and percentages cheat sheet (PDF)
Fractions, decimals and percentages in pictures: equivalents, mixed numbers, adding, the equivalents to learn, and a fraction or percentage of an amount. For Years 4 to 6, revising for the 11+ maths paper.
What’s in it
The first page is fractions: what the top and bottom numbers mean, equivalent fractions and simplest form, mixed numbers, comparing, what fraction is shaded, adding and taking away, and times and share. The second page is decimals and percentages: the 100 square, ordering decimals, the equivalents to learn by heart, a fraction of an amount, percentages of an amount by the 10% method, increase and decrease, and ratio or fraction.
It uses the same words and methods as Rush’s fractions and ratio guides, with pizzas, chocolate bars and bar models to show each idea. Percentage increase and decrease is starred, because it goes beyond the primary curriculum. Every colour has a label as well, so it prints clearly in black and white.
