Free times tables grid to 15, with patterns and tricks (PDF)
A big 15 × 15 grid for the wall, and a page of patterns and tricks that make each table easier to learn. For Years 2 to 6, and for the Year 4 multiplication tables check.
What’s in it
The first page is the whole grid from 1 × 1 to 15 × 15, large enough to read across a room. The square numbers run corner to corner, the 2 to 12 block for the Year 4 multiplication tables check is framed, and the 13, 14 and 15 tables sit past a gap.
The second page has a pattern or trick for the tables, each with an example: the 2s, 5s and 10s, doubling for the 4s and 8s, the 3s and 6s digit sums, the 9s, the 11s and where their trick stops, building the 12s to 15s from facts you know, swapping (only 66 different facts to learn from 2 to 12), dividing, and the square numbers. Every number is worked out by code, and every pattern is checked before the sheet is made.
