Free Year 3 to 6 statutory spelling lists, with tests (PDF)
All 200 statutory spelling words, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6, each with practice pages and five tests. For Years 3 to 6, and for the spellings the 11+ English paper expects.
What’s in it
The national curriculum in England sets 100 words for Years 3 and 4 and 100 for Years 5 and 6 that every child should learn to spell. These are those lists, word for word and in the government’s order, from English Appendix 1: Spelling. Each year group is its own PDF: the list with a box to tick for each word, five look, say, cover, write, check pages of 20 words, and five tests.
Learn about ten words a week and tick a word once it’s right on a different day from when it was learnt. For a test, a grown-up reads out the set’s words from the back, in any order. Where the list gives more than one form, such as busy/business or accident(ally), the words to read out spell out every form.
- Years 3 and 4The 100 words with tick boxes, five practice pages and five tests
- Years 5 and 6The same, for the 100 Year 5 and 6 words
- The words to read out for each test, at the back
How to answer these questions
